The Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA) joined other key stakeholders at the Official Signing Ceremony of the Regional Partnership for Democracy (RPD) Programme, held on Tuesday, 17 November 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Abuja.

The DTCA delegation was led by Mr. Sefia, Director of Diaspora Affairs, who represented the Directorate alongside senior management staff. The event was hosted by the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, who presided over the signing ceremony in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The RPD Programme is a flagship initiative aimed at advancing inclusive governance, strengthening democratic institutions, and enhancing regional cooperation across Africa. The signing of the programme document marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s ongoing commitment to deepening democracy and promoting sustainable development on the continent.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Honourable Minister emphasized the importance of multilateral collaboration in safeguarding democratic values and building resilient institutions. He noted that the partnership with UNDP will support Nigeria and other African nations in implementing strategic reforms that foster stability, accountability, and broad-based development.

DTCA’s participation aligns with its mandate to promote technical cooperation, capacity building, and regional integration among African states. The Directorate reaffirmed its readiness to support initiatives that advance democratic governance and strengthen Nigeria’s leadership role in regional development efforts.

The Directorate expresses appreciation to the Honourable Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for convening this critical engagement and looks forward to continued collaboration with local and international partners in driving the objectives of the RPD Programme.
