As part of the ongoing National Council on Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy meeting holding in Jos, Plateau State from 8th – 12th December, the delegation of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA), led by the Director, Research, Monitoring and Information Services, Mr. Kevin Gambo YILME, joined other members of the Council on a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, at the Government House, Rayfield–Jos.
The Governor was ably represented by the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Her Excellency Hon. Mrs. Josephine Piyo, who warmly received the delegation on behalf of the State Government.
In her remarks, the Deputy Governor:
1. Welcomed all Council Members to Plateau State, extending the hospitality for which the State is known.
2. Expressed deep appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy for selecting Plateau State as the host for this critical national meeting, noting that such engagements promote collaboration, development, and visibility for the State.
3. Encouraged the Council Members to take advantage of the serene environment of Jos to hold meaningful deliberations that will advance Nigeria’s digital economy aspirations.
4. Wished all participants a successful, productive and impactful meeting, as well as a pleasant stay on the Plateau.
The visit provided an opportunity for enhanced collaboration between Plateau State and the Federal Ministry, as well as agencies such as the DTCA, particularly in areas related to digital innovation, capacity building, technical development, and intergovernmental cooperation.
The DTCA delegation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening technical cooperation frameworks that align with national development priorities and contribute to sustainable digital transformation across the country.
